For those of you who asked-- oh, wait, no one did! I don't care! I'm going to talk about it and YOU CAN'T STOP ME because it's my blog! Bwahahaha!-- the cartoonish version of the dancers is coming along.
I have to love this piece, because it has been part of the process of a lifechanging discovery, about which more later. But for now, look! I'm doing stuff!

Ooo, that's really pretty- I'm liking the colors. :)
Thank you, dear! I'm at the "oh please don't mess it up" stage, which makes me very glad it's digital...
I agree with Merily...
ooo...I second, no, third what Merily said :)
Looks great! I love when you post the sketch and then show us how it's coming along :) I love seeing the process!
Aw, ya'll are sweet!
I think-- and this doesn't apply to just my own work-- that the work in progress is often more interesting than the finished piece, though the finished piece may well be objectively *better*. There's immediate energy in the unfinished. Gesture drawings can be really compelling, in particular.
gorgeous. i like the spiral details in bitty places, and the floral headpieces. i also had this sense of achievement from this piece, it's like stages of growth...
Wow, Mermaiden, that's fantastic. I am totally stealing that, and pretending I meant it all along. Hurrah!
Details in a simple piece are something I love. It's one of the great bits about Art Nouveau, simple shapes and colors, lots of teeny tiny details scattered about. But not something I am especially skilled at-- I always start going overboard. Hopefully this piece stays under control!
Those girls are beautiful! They're in their own worlds, but working together to create a beautiful scene.
